Morgan Freeman Hurt in Delta Wreck

As most of you have read on the Internet or caught on the national TV news, Morgan Freeman was seriously injured in a wreck in the Mississippi Delta near Clarksdale Sunday evening. My high school friend, Francine Luckett and her husband Bill, are close friends of Morgan's. Bill Luckett is Morgan's attorney and business partner. They own Madidi Restaurant in Clarksdale as well as Ground Zero Blues where we united with our MS Maes in April for the Juke Joint Festival. Morgan was in New York rehearsing for his Broadway performance in Country Girl. He called Bill Luckett and said "tell the girls to have a good time at Ground Zero."

From the MS Maes, "Morgan, we wish you a full recovery and hope to see you in Clarksdale on our next trip." Clarksdale may not be ready for us again, but we are sure ready for another Blues Festival in the Delta especially at Ground Zero!
